Visitors in town

Leonard just came back from Vienna, to find Monica visiting us in Bremen. Here she is hanging out on our new sofa.

Hmm, a little boring though - we should do something!

Right! Let's get dressed up and take a walk into the "city" center!

That's an idea Leonard also likes!

Market Square, Bremen

...and the Town Musicians.

Now Monica has already returned to Munich.

A couple of days later grandpa Hans-Juergen arrives!
He shows Leonard how to brush his two teeth with the electrical toothbrush.

HAPPY granddad.

Two friends.

On Saturday morning he picked up Leonard from our Baby-Swimming-Group. Right next to Leonard is Matea, his girl friend.
Surprise Trip to Vienna
We made a short trip to Vienna beginning of November. Petra didn't know where we were going until we got to the gate at Hannover airport. Vienna! Wow. Our friend Rainer, who moved to Europa a couple of weeks before us, was waiting for us.
It was great to see him again, especially since we tried to get together since summer 2004, but in vain.

Rainer's one-bedroom-apartment in Vienna - a beautiful place.

A lot of art work in his place. Here is a polyptychon he made from a couple of photos he took on his decisive flight from NY to Vienna last year (© Rainer Fehringer).
First day, a holiday in Austria: All Saints Day, we made a nice walk through the beautiful inner city center in ended up in one of the coffee houses.

Back at home
...and in the afternoon we continued along the house of the "Vienna Secession", an artist's association of the early 20th century with important members as Gustav Klimt.

In the streets you can see beautifully decorated facades everywhere:

Until you get to Schoenbrunn Palace :

The view down to the actual main building - originally only planned as teh gate houses for the main grounds...

which sits atop of a quite important hill overlooking teh whole city. The "Gloriette":

Running up the hills.

...along baroque fountains.

Sharing father's responsibilities and pleasures.

Finally at the Gloriette, atop the hill!
Next day a trip to the surrounding hills of Vienna: Here we are at "Heaven", one of the famous "Heurige", an outdoor wine-garden:

and in the afternoon Rainer finally showed us the "Prater" with it's famous Ferris Wheel (known from the movie "The Third Man"):

inside the gondola.

In the evening dinner with lovely Uschi...

...and charming Doris!

But one thing Leonard will remember for sure: the towel hanger in Rainer's kitchen, the little pig, he became befriended with.
