Every year, my cousins and their families meet for a long weekend at some beautifull location to be together, to cook, to laugh and to catch up. By the year we are more and more people as the little ones keep popping up.

There has to be another spot on the globe: In Brazil, Recife. That's where old friends of Petra and Horst are at the moment with their sailing boat. They, Rita and Walter, are on a trip around the whole world for two (?) years. Their stories can be read (plus beautiful pictures) on their Blog NoaLog.

Petra was following the totally interesting coverage of the one single handed sailor of the Vendée Globe on the web, when we figured out, that the one boat which had to give up because of technical trouble, the "Delta Dore", is in the same marina as Rita and Walter.

Advent's Calendar

Probably the biggest joy for kids is the Advent's Calendar. And as correct parents we don't just give them anything in a pre-fabricated Calendar, no it is individually wrapped.
And being Democratic, for each of the two it has to be an identical gift for each day.

So we ended up packing 24x2 little presents up in wrapping paper, hanging them in two parallel lines... Now we're done. For this year.

Friends from Brussels

Elke and Jochen from Brussels visited us today.
Before Jochen knew it, he was reading a part from Leonard's favorite book: a cooking book with "the mouse", a favorite figure in German children television.

Trip to Hannover

This weekend we made a trip to our friends on the countryside, close to Hannover, Lower Saxony.

Hmm, a chocolate croissant for breakfast, so delicious!

Early afternoon we dropped by Uta and Christoph on their medival water castle (see also the post from June 2004) at Launeau. As you can read in the coat of arms above the entrance, the edifices date from 1664! 5 feet thick walls and a well in the courtyard.

Day 2 after the return from L.A. After Leonard was riding his bicycle like a dare-devil and then after supper and yoghurt he collapsed at the table. Poor little Leonard, so brave!

Yes, it's true! Since today Leonard rides a real bicycle! We went to the nearby "Bürgerpark" which is a very lovely, privately funded park in walking distance, where Leonard made his first exercises.
