When I was a child, you could sense the coffee smell all over the city of Hannover, where I grew up, when the local coffee roastery Machwitz was roasting coffee. That was always a very nice scent, perhaps also the main reason why I am still addicted to a good cup of coffee.

Moving to Bremen now I was quite disappointed to see that there is nearly no coffee roaster around to get fresh and delicious coffee. Bremen should be THE place in Germany for good and fresh coffee, because it is considered the main importation port for coffee European-wide.

But when you try to find coffee in the supermarkets here it is only from the big brands controlling the market in Germany: Tschibo and Eduscho – nothing special or local! A couple of days ago I saw on the local TV program an article about the “Münchhausen roastery” in Bremen, which sounded very nice. So we went there today to check the place out. Here it is.
