Green’s heaven (do you recognize the windmill in the background?)<\/p>\nToday we had a particularly beautiful summer day in Bremen: Blue sky and unbelievable 90\u00ba F.! Although one has to know that that temperature in Germany is still bearable because the relative humidity is just 60%. Different than in NY\u2026<\/p>\n
Still on such a warm day this was the occasion to go to the \u201cUni-Lake\u201d, THE place to go for a little dip (so called because of the nearby university). One third of the beaches around the quarry pond is a beach for people prefering not to have their swim suit on (I need to use this awkward formulation, because this page has been blocked by moral control institutions for teh word in the title…), as you find them everywhere in Germany. So I found myself in the midst of a whole lot of people in \u201cAdam\u2019s costume\u201d. All kinds of people: big one\u2019s, small one\u2019s, strong stomachs or hanging bellies, big white mamas, old ones and babies, women, men, singles and couples (although around me, I realized, was an enormous majority of male couples, or did I end up at the wrong spot?) \u2013 everybody enjoying the refreshing dip in the cool lake.<\/p>\n
At the horizon the three windmills milling, that must be heaven for every green. Here is a picture I took with my cell: Green’s heaven (do you recognize the windmill in the background?)<\/p>\n
– only the noise from the nearby freeway is a little annoying.
The cool thing though I find: nobody cares if one is in his swim suit or without. And it can be a really nice thing being in the sun!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
